Charleville has several community and voluntary organisations that aim to promote and enhance the social well-being of the town. These groups are actively seeking new members to assist them in the work they  carry out in the town. Click on the group's name to find out more on contacting them.

Charleville Community Council

Charleville Community Council aims to provide better services for the Charleville area. Such examples include the provision of housing and better lighting where required, epecially for the elderly, participation in the tidy towns committee helping with the upkeep of the Garden of Remembrance and the organisation of the St. Patrick's Day parade.




Lions Club Charleville

The Lions Club works with and for the local community in Charleville, Lions Club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide. Their voulnteer efforts go beyond the support of vision care, to addressing unmet health and education needs worldwide. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 8.30pm in the Charleville Park Hotel.




Ballyhoura Community Radio Ltd

Ballyhoura Community Radio delivers a voluntary quality radio service every Saturday and Sunday on 92.6FM, to inform, educate and entertain local people and reflect the ethos of our rural hinterland, promoting local news, Irish language, culture, music and sports programmes. This will be achieved by encouraging all sections of our community to become involved in the making and presentation of programmes and in the running, managing and maintenance of the radio station. We also aim to give a voice to minority groups, to the youth, to the elderly and to the increasing number of people with diverse cultures living in our midst and thereby helping them to integrate more fully into the local community. Charleville & District Community Enterprise Ltd.

Charleville & District Community Enterprise Ltd provides advice on transition housing, family home accommodation and HSE services which are located in the McAuley House, Main Street Charleville (pictured left). Other services include counselling, training pastoral care and room hire.
